In December, EIS took part in a session at the #RawMaterialsWeek2024 and hosted a successful satellite event, in partnership with GSEU - Geological Service for Europe, to explore innovative strategies for securing Europe’s critical raw materials (CRMs).
The two events brought together industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers to discuss groundbreaking approaches in mineral exploration, highlighting the importance of collaboration and innovation in shaping a sustainable future.
Dec 12 - Strategic Exploration Approaches to Raw Materials
This dynamic session gathered experts to address the challenges and opportunities in mineral exploration, focusing on innovation, collaboration, and sustainability.
Session Highlights:
- Keynote by Mr. Fernando Tornos (CSIC): An inspiring talk on why mineral exploration is essential for securing Europe’s future.
- AI and Machine Learning in Exploration: Insights from Vesa Nykänen (GTK & EIS_HorizonEU project coordinator) on leveraging cutting-edge technologies for exploration.
- EIS Tools Unveiled: A live demonstration of mineral prospectivity mapping tools by Andreas Knobloch (Beak Consultants GmbH).
- Strengthening European Exploration: Perspectives from Guillaume Bertrand, Ph.D. (BRGM) on how GSEU is advancing exploration efforts to align with the CRM Act. 20241212_RawMaterialsWeek_Bertrand.pdf
