Description:
Exploration companies and Mining Industry Clusters are pivotal in driving innovation and
progress in the
mining sector. The first session “Mining Industry (Clusters) and innovations“ delves into
leveraging the
CRM Act and national plans to expedite action in exploration and extraction. Discussions will
revolve
around identifying the needs of these clusters, ranging from regulatory to economic aspects.
Examples
will be provided to structure the session, such as optimizing permit targeting to mitigate time,
costs,
risks, and environmental impacts. Additionally, the session will explore the necessity for
training
politicians, decision support for policy-making, and environmental conservation policies.
Participants
will explore the tools required, including those related to prospectivity, to streamline and
enhance
mining operations.
The second session “EIS Test sites and Current Mineral Exploration Activities”, will present how
EIS
industry partners are currently using EIS in their respective test sites to ameliorate their
exploration
activities, plans, and achieve their CRM objectives. Project partners from mining regionswill
share
insights on addressing exploration needs and implementing EIS. Potential best practice examples
can be
highlighted and shared.
In addition, we will present how EIS is partnering with the GSEU – Geological Service for Europe
project
to strengthen mineral exploration in Europe by providing decision makers and exploration
companies tools
and knowledge on the CRM geological potential in Europe. Furthermore, experts from junior
exploration
companies' sustainability and stakeholder departments will discuss their approaches to
facilitating
stakeholder engagement around exploration projects.
The event will conclude with a quick presentation of the EIS toolkit and wizard, showcasing
practical
tools and resources to support exploration efforts in the mining sector. Participants will have
the
opportunity to gain insights into utilizing these tools to enhance their exploration endeavours,
ultimately contributing to sustainable and responsible mining practices
